Review - Maysua Japanese seafood restaurant
Maysua Japanese Seafood Restaurant
Location: 12-14 O'Connell St, Sydney NSW 2000
Cuisine: Japanese
Service: 3.5/5
Food: 4/5
Maysua Japanese seafood restaurant is well known for their fresh seafood and the ability to make perfect cuts in their seafood alongside perfect plating. With this knowledge we knew that this restaurant had to be reviewed. The seafood at this restaurant is really fresh it's literally caught and then taken to the fish market where it is purchased for the restaurant ensuring the freshness of the seafood.
With Maysua Japanese seafood restaurant being so famous for their seafood we knew that we had to try it. The first dish was the seafood delight this was a variety of seafood served on one plate such as tuna, squid and many more. What else can we say except that this dish was perfect one of the best seafood Places I have ever tried. This was followed by tuna sushi which was moist, succulent and made to perfection it really was a great dish. The only downside is the service is mediocre but they do everything right so not many complaints this is a definite place for everyone to try.

Restaurant Review: My Thai Botany
Restaurant Name: My Thai Botany
Location :1/1433 Botany Rd, Botany NSW 2019
Cuisine Style :Thai
Price Range : Budget - Mid
Zomato Review Rating : 3.0 out 5 of 5 Review
Menu: Available at Website
Restaurant is a small local restaurant located on botany road. The location is not the best as it one a main road so the outside seating can be annoying with large trucks on the road and people walking around you as you try to eat
The food was good for entree ordered Salt and Pepper king prawns they were succulent and well seasoned however the price and serving size were a let down it was a bit pricey , and serving size a little small however a good entree no the less.
For Main order Crying tiger , it was very delicious its infusion of spicy Thai spices and cream were excellent and definitely recommend this menu item for anyone wanting to eat at the restaurant.
Unfortunately lack of a dessert menu means we could not order a dessert.
Overall Recommenced this restaurant to anyone looking for thai restaurant in the Botany area

Mr Wong - Restaurant Review
Mr Wong

Location: 3 Bridge St, Sydney NSW 2000
Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Mr Wong is known to be on of the greatest chines restaurants to currently exist in a location such as the CBD their is much foot traffic so maintaining a positive review of your business would consist of many reviews so the ability to sustain a positive reputation is one of the biggest accomplishments by Mr Wong so we knew we had to try it for ourselves. We started off with the Dim sum which was just amazing soft, moist and succulent it was really a splendid dish that we recommend to you all. This was followed by Mr Wongs famous mud crab we had high hopes for this course and the question on everyone mine was will dish this deliver??? and what we can say is YES! this dish was amazing it reached a full 5/5 from us here at the Macquarie Food Bloggers and the service was amazing with many cheerful employees.

Maroubra Seals Bistro - Review
Seals Club Bistro
Cuisine: Multiple Cuisines
Service: 3/5
Food: 4/5
Location: 212 Marine Parade, Maroubra New South Wales, 2035
The Seals Club Bistro is located just off the beach at Maroubra. Recently the seals club bistro has undergone a massive renovation including new managing staff, new employees, new chefs and a brand new menu ranging from a wide variety of food. With this knowledge i knew i had to review it especially since its a place Ive been to multiple times before based solely on the cheap food and location of the Bistro.
The new bistro contained a new menu, with this came multiple changes with how the restaurant worked and operated. The biggest factor to change was a massive increase in price from an average price of $7 before the renovation to $15 after the renovation. With this increase i had high hopes with the food with calamari rings as my first meal at $7.50 it cam in a small portion and were your average deep fried calamari rings and there wasn't much to complain about.
My next meal was a grilled chicken breast& king prawns covered in Bearnaise sauce. This meal cost $18.80 and is on the more expensive end but it was worth it. The chicken breast was juicy and the prawns were to die for it was really a splendid dish but with that price tag it may not be something we have often. These meals received a score of 4/5 from us here at the Macquarie Food Bloggers. The service was pretty poor people didn't go out of their ways to have a talk with their customers but their wasn't much of a problem with it so we decided to rate that 3/5. I think this is a great place to take the family but be warned feeding a family could be quite expensive.
Rengaya - Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant
Review by Daniel Jang
The table setting and atmosphere at Rengaya is divine. |
Restaurant Name: Rengaya
Location: Rubi Greenwood Plaza Shopping Centre,
73 Miller St, North Sydney NSW 2060
73 Miller St, North Sydney NSW 2060
Cuisine Style: Japanese Yakiniku BBQ
Price: $50+pp
Today we will be reviewing one of the most famous Japanese restaurants in Sydney - Rengaya. Rengaya is a Yakiniku restaurant located in North Sydney.
For those not in the know, Yakiniku is a style of Japanese BBQ where cuts of meat - typically Wagyu Beef - are grilled over a wire mesh on top of hot coals. And my Lord does it taste good! I still remember my first experience eating at Rengaya. That moment the Wagyu Chateaubriand touched my tongue, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven - It is that good.
There are many other options to choose from including sashimi, salads, yukke (beef tartare with egg yolk and shallots), oysters and much more.
But be warned, dining at Rengaya is not cheap. Indeed, you should expect to pay a minimum of $50 per person to get a taste of what Rengaya has to offer. The last time I went to Rengaya with 3 friends and the total bill amounted to over $350.
In summary, the dining experience at Rengaya is nothing short of phenomenal. Everything from the service from the Japanese waitresses to the presentation of the food just screamed excellence. However at $50+ per person, it is not a cheap dinner. I highly recommend saving this restaurant for a special occasion like an anniversary or a birthday.

Bavarian Bier Cafe - Manly
Bavarian Bier Cafe - Manly
Review by Andrew Green
Dish: Schnitzel
Restaurant name: Bavarian Bier Cafe
Location: Manly Wharf
Price: $35
Following a Sunday at Freshwater beach,
my friends and i found ourselves at the Manly
Bavarian Bier Cafe. Known for their oversized
German beer and energetic atmosphere, it ended up being a great way to end an even better weekend. Located right on the water, there was a relaxed atmosphere, with everyone there looking to enjoy the last hours of their weekends.
Ordering the schnitzel i was amazed by the sheer size of the
dish, with schnitzel hanging of all sides of the plate. Topped with gravy, the schnitzel was perfectly cooked with the outside crunchy, and the inside
succulent and moist. Topped with a german beer and the constant salt water breeze i couldn't have imagined a more relaxed ending to a hard week of work.
The waiters and waitresses where all dresses in German outfits and boasted German accents, adding to the authenticity and atmosphere of this restaurant. Ive been to the Bavarian Bier Cafe multiple times, with this one being the best.
If you are yet to experience the Bavarian Bier Cafe, or happen to be a regular, the atmosphere, food and overall experience is second to none. Get down there and experience authentic Germany for yourself !!
Alpha - Greek Restaurant Review
Alpha - Greek Restaurant
Review by Andrew Green
Dish: Pastichio
Restaurant name: Alpha Restaurant
Location: 238 Castlereagh St, Sydney, 2000
Price: $35
To celebrate one of my closest friends birthdays,
we kept to the theme of his Greek heritage. Alpha was recommended as the 'place to go' in Sydney for an authentic Greek experience. Not knowing what to expect the restaurant's atmosphere was certainly Greek.
It was loud, energetic and a very fun place to be.
My Greek friend recommended i order the 'Pastichio' dish, a Greek take on lasagne. When it arrived i expected a similar lasagne taste, but was surprisingly shocked. A more garlic pungent, mediterranean inspired dish was apparent and was like nothing i have ever really tasted.
The welcoming an constant energy the restaurant provided really made the night feel special, and
made the birthday celebrations all the better and more enjoyable. My friends being of Greek heritage were surprised by how well Alpha replicated a Greek restaurant and put their own spin on it.
Overall it was a great experience and for a more classy evening i would defiantly recommend trying the authentic Greek atmosphere that Alpha has created.

Restaurant Review: Himalaya Restaurant Rockdale
Restaurant Name: Himalaya Indian and Pakistani Restaurant
Location :Several Locations : Rockdale, Granville and Liverpool
Price Range : Budget - Mid
Google Review Rating : 3.5 out 5 of 44 Review
Menu: Available at Website
The restaurant is a very popular restaurant and has several location around Sydney including several in western Sydney.
During the visit for entree ordered a tandoori plate , for main a Lahore chicken and for dessert had a mango kulfi. The restaurant was relatively busy however the food came out quickly.
The Starter Was Very good according to the waiter it was cooked in a tan door so the flavor was unique and one worth savoring however it was slightly spicy so if anyone does not like eating spicy food this entree is not for you.
The Main of Lahore chicken and sides of Garlic Naan , were very good the simmer sauce surrounding was good and not over powering , the sides of Garlic Naan , Papads and Mint Raita help take the edge of the spice infused dish.
The Dessert of Mango Kulfi was a nice ending to the meal it was sweet however the portion size were a bit disappointing as they were a little small.
All In all i would rate this restaurant a 4.5 out of 5 Star and thoroughly recommend this restaurant this service was fast and friendly and the food was equisite.

Seafood Laksa - East West Gourmet
Review by Daniel Jang
The Seafood Laksa comes with fish balls, fish fillets, prawns, squid, crab stick and tofu. |
Dish: Laksa
Restaurant Name: East West Gourmet
Location: Mandarin Centre Food Court, Chatswood, Sydney
Cuisine Style: Chinese/Malaysian/Hawker
Price: $12.00
Those familiar with hawker cuisine will know that the Laksa is among the most famous dishes in Singapore and Malaysia. Everyone has their favourite laksa stall and for me, that title belongs to East West Gourmet in the Mandarin Centre Food court.
A good laksa soup should be savoury, spicy, salty, sour and sweet all at the same time. And that's exactly what the laksa at East West Gourmet is. The moment it touches your tongue, your mouth explodes with flavour. The fish fillets are incredibly soft and almost melt in your mouth.
There are 3 variants of laksa to choose from: Chicken Laksa, Fish Fillet Laksa and Seafood Laksa. If it's your first time, I would recommend the Seafood Laksa as it has a bit of everything. Personally, my favourite is the Fish Fillet Laksa. Having said that, you really can't go wrong with any of those choices, they are all outstanding.

Noodle Boy is one of the most popular restaurants in the eastern suburbs and has recently undergone a renovation. They received some positive reviews online and we knew that once we read this we had totry it. They are located right near the beach which deliver an amazing view as customers enjoy their food. With the new renovation the inside of the store looks great.
The food was very well priced $10 for satay

much food came with it. The food tasted great the chicken
moist and succulent and the salt and pepper squid was to die
for we really enjoyed the food and the prices of Noodle Boy.

Cavallino Restaurant review
Cavallino - Authentic Italian Restaurant
Review by Andrew Green
Dish: Pizza, Pizza and more Pizza !!
Restaurant name: Cavallino Ristorante Pizzeria
Location: Yulong Avenue, Terry-Hills, 2084
Price: $24
After hearing many positive things about this local pizzeria, it was time for me and my friends to try it for ourselves. Wandering in on a Monday night, we were surprisingly greeted by an all you can eat pizza menu for only $24 a head. Knowing this prior i am sure we would have starved ourselves throughout the day, but none the less it still came as a pleasant surprise. Upon entry the first thing that is apparent is the authentic Italian feeling, the staff all with Italian accents and the smell of the wood fire pizza filled the restaurant.
A variety of pizzas where ordered from the simple margherita, to sausage pizzas and my favourite of the night, the Mediterranean special. From the first sight to the last bite my expectations were not disappointed. We could all taste the freshness of the ingredients, locally sourced from the Terry-Hills area, and the lightness even after eating what felt like two whole pizzas, just authenticated how real the Italian feeling of this restaurant was.
Alongside the amazing eatery, the feeling and over all authentic Italian vibe that encompassed Cavallino is what sold me, and will be the main reason for my fairly soon return. The staff were soo nice and even taught us some Italian, making it a night to truely remember. The next time i find my self in Cavallino i will be sure come on a Friday, their special night, showcasing a live Italian performance, plus its a great excuse to taste test their pasta and other dishes !!!
Another great restaurant that will be a staple in my eat out diet !!!

Best Burgers In Sydney ??
Bar Luca, Sydney CBD
Review by Andrew Green
Restaurant name: Bar Luca
Location: 52 Phillip St, Sydney, 2000
Price: $20
Another Blog another Burger. After hearing nothing but positive reviews online i had to see
what all the hype was around Sydney's Bar Luca. Lets just say wow.... i was not disappointed.
I dug my face into a Blame Canada burger, a cheeseburger with added bacon and a special sauce that lived up to its name.
The bun was spongy and wasn't overly sweet. I could not fault this burger, the patty was juicy and thick and the bacon was crisp and broke when i bit into it.
Moving onto the fries and my expectations where once again met. Crisp, thin cut fries and a large serving as well. The atmosphere was class as well, everyone in there was enjoying their meals and the staff always seemed to be buzzing around.
Overall Bar Luca has sky rocketed to my favourite Burger Joint and i am keen to get down there again soon, to indulge in the rest of their menu. Don't just take my word for it though, try it out for yourself and like myself, i'm sure you will not be disappoin

Mary's Newtown
Mary's Burgers - Newtown
Review by Andrew Green
Dish: Cheeseburger and fries
Location: 6 Mary street, Newtown, Sydney
Price: $18
As a burger lover i am always finding myself
at Mary's, returning time and time again. They're
simple take on the classics makes them stand out
in the burger community. I have eaten a ridiculous amount of burgers over my years but Mary's holds a special place with me. They use locally sourced ingredients, and have a sauce to die for, not to mention the southern chicken dipped in their signature mash and gravy. The atmosphere at Mary's is quite unique,
lively and fun staff mixed with indie music creates a hipster type scene which really adds to the Mary's
experience.
If you are yet to try Mary's, get down there this weekend for a great burger and even better atmosphere. Wednesday, 21 September 2016

Hainan Chicken Rice- East West Gourmet
Review by Daniel Jang
East West Gourmet restaurant in Mandarin Food Court |
Dish: Hainan Chicken Rice
Restaurant Name: East West Gourmet
Location: Mandarin Centre Food Court, Chatswood, Sydney
Cuisine Style: Chinese/Malaysian
Price: $11.00
When it comes to Malaysian cuisine, there is one particular dish that I will always order if I see it on the menu and that is Hainan chicken rice. To say that I have eaten a lot of Hainan chicken rice is a massive understatement so you can believe me when I say that East West Gourmet has the best Hainan chicken rice hands down in all of Sydney.
Hainan chicken, rice, soup and fresh chilli |
The meat is extremely tender and succulent and the chicken-broth infused rice is fluffy and flavourful. Hot soup is served with sliced bok choy and compliments the chicken perfectly.
If you haven't tried the Hainan chicken rice at East West gourmet, do yourself a massive favour and go there right now. You can thank me later. =)
Unbelievably succulent and tender chicken |
